I CAN'T NOT MAKE GAMES.

I have enough lockerspace to hold an episode of Friends.

"We'll make a toast to absent friends and better days,
To remembering and being remembered as brave
And not as a bunch of whining jerks!

Don't lose your nerve.
Do not go straight
You must testify
(or I'm going to come to your house and punch you in the mouth)
cause CLOWNS MUST STAND."

- TW/IFS, "All The World Is A Stage Dive"
Iron Gaia
As the only human awake on board a space station controlled by an insane AI with delusions of deification, you must unravel the mystery of your own identity and discover: "What is the Iron Gaia?"

[DEMO] Phantom Legacy Demo I

And the apostrophes, dude, the apostrophes! But this being officially the fourth time I've mentioned this, I'll assume you've heard it and stop harping on it.

I...kind...of...get what Omcifer is trying to say. This game's dialogue is better than the dialogue in ~90% of RM games though. The problem with Omcifer's example, besides the fact that neither of the examples used were actually FROM this game, is that the first example was a caricature of bad anime/video game dialogue, whereas the second, while more eloquent and intelligent, was still just as cheeseball/overwrought.

I dunno, I personally feel characters like Shadar can be as grandiose/existential/verbose as they want to, because they are METAPHYSICAL GOD BEINGS, Nero's verbose/smarty-pants dialog was sort of a character trait addressed within the game when the female lead (can't recall her name) calls him out on his need to use ten dollar words all the god damn time, and I felt like everyone else talked, you know, in a fairly naturalistic, believable game.

Oh, and I am perhaps the biggest snob of video game writing ever, so if you writing is passing my test, it should not be failing anyone else's.

The writing (and spelling/grammar!) have GREATLY improved over (what I've seen of) Demon Legacy (the early part).

Shell, Protect, Regen

Side note: Do NOT use the names "regen, shell, and protect" for these abilities unless you are making a final fantasy fan game. And while we're at it, don't make a final fantasy fan game. ;D

7:00ish - 2:30amish? with breaks in between.:
*Spaceship/space station landing/orbit/docking sequence for my mystery project.
I think it's really pretty so far. I'm still working on it. Maybe screenshots later.
*Imported massive amount of RMXP RTP-Style Charsets for background characters in my RMVX mystery project.
*Began populating the truly massive "living" urban area that will serve as the "hub" of my mystery project's first episode.

Time spent today:

~4-5 hours, give or take and two hours.

Naming your characters

You know who is the worst at generating character names ever? JK ROWLING. That cunt.

Five Random Thoughts About Video Games.

Well at least one dude quit squenix, right? The dude who went on to make Lost Odyssey?

Shell, Protect, Regen

Check the KGC script again and try to figure out the exact wording needed for the HP recovery to take effect and put exactly that wording (including capitalization/punctuation) into the note box. Then test it to see if it works.

As for the other two functions, while I know it's not an exact match, an easy workaround would be having Shell be a state that gives 200% Defense (should equal 1/2 damage from physical attacks).

Less perfect is giving a 200% boost to mental, since that would help you increase magic resistance, reducing magic damage to 1/2 which is good, but would also increase the magic damage you deal by 2x as an unwanted side effect.

But it sounds to me like you have the means for at least protect and regen at your fingertips, you just need to experiment to get them working.

Side note: Do NOT use the names "regen, shell, and protect" for these abilities unless you are making a final fantasy fan game. And while we're at it, don't make a final fantasy fan game. ;D

Naming your characters

Necromancy aside, I think the first two methods you listed there could result in some TRULY HORRIBLE NAMES.

Shell, Protect, Regen

Um...in and of itself these notes would not do ANYTHING so...what scripts do you have running?

Also, although this is by far not your main concern right now, recovering 20% HP per turn is WAY TOO GOOD for a regen effect.

Crafting good story/characters

God damn you to hell shadowtext. Kentona was completely right. That website is THE DEVIL.
